Pazzis Sureda was born into a large family devoted to art, and little by little she emerged as a brilliant sculptor. However, her life would end up stigmatized by the misinterpretations of her rebellion, by the after-effects of tuberculosis, by the death of those around her and by her irresistible desire to escape.
Her suicide in May 1939 became the excuse for her parents, her brothers and her lovers to tell what they thought of her, thus outlining a complex character. Some would always be so confused that they would declare themselves incapable of understanding her, or would end up considering her a fool; others, however, would remember her as a passionate woman capable of transforming the trivial into the extraordinary.
Pazzis Sureda and the Abyss is, in addition to a biography, a journey through art and madness; a collection of stories that intertwine around the main plot.
