Throughout the 19th century, a series of revolts took place that invoked Jihad and aimed at the Islamization of animist peoples and the creation of Islamic states. To achieve this, the strategy almost always consisted of having a highly mobile army, so that they could surprise the enemy, inflict losses and disappear. Therefore, almost all the states created since Usmán Dan Fodio created the Sokoto Caliphate until Samori Turé was defeated and deported to Gabon were short-lived.
The short sword featured in Black Market belonged to an officer in Samori Turé's army, and features a bronze hilt and a double-edged iron blade.
