Dogon box with chameleons
Ogo Banya or Dogon (Chameleon) Offering Cup
The Nummo, Dogon spiritual figures associated with water, are sometimes represented by a chameleon due to their patient attitude, slow movements and ease of changing color.
The small Ogo Banya or Dogon offering cup that appears in the photographs is arranged on the back of a Nummo that has adopted the shape of a chameleon. The glass is decorated with chameleon reliefs and aquatic motifs. The cover is once again crowned by another small chameleon.
